PROFITING FROM PROVERBS – 5/6/2021

“A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts" (Proverbs 6:33-35).

TOPICS: Ministry/Outreach
KEYWORDS:
“A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts" (Proverbs 6:33-35).

Verse 34 kind of takes this another step deeper, “For jealousy is the rage of a man,” to this point it's kind of talking about how damaging it is to somebody; but now there's another, broader application to it, because “jealousy is the rage of a man.” Now, remember that this is talking about going unto your neighbor’s wife. Well, now you have to deal with the neighbor; and jealousy is a powerful thing. It’s akin to envy and this jealous man “will not spare in the day of vengeance.”

If you really want to insult a man, there it is, right? There have been and are women that have been forced to file for divorce, and there is a reproach and a vulnerability that can never quite be covered again from that thing. Well, in the same respect; a man is dishonored, and there's a wound there borne that's very difficult to heal.

“For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.”

Well then, you see that the Lord just gave you some insight into Himself; because what He claims is with Israel; and of course, now applicably the church. That with Israel she was always going out and committing whoredoms with all those false gods, with all these other nations and all those sorts of things. They always applied it that way, and it was always a thing where He always offered her to come back; but there's coming a day where the Lord is a jealous God. He says that there's a day that He will come back in a day of vengeance, and that's what this thing is going to be all about.

So, when the Lord comes back, what you have to think of is a is a husband that has been dishonored and cheated on for 4,000 years. It’s not going to be pretty. “He will not regard any ransom, neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.”

He’s not going to be interested in a present. That’s not going to solve anything. It says that “he will not regard any ransom.” The Lord is going to come back and wipe it out at Armageddon.

Yet, just to clarify. Many of the Jewish people will return to Him before the battle of Armageddon. These He will call His friends. Yet, there will be millions of His people that will resist Him until the end, and they will be destroyed from the fire that goes out of His mouth.

When this final battle has run its course, the Millennial kingdom begins.

Daily Bible study is necessary if we are going to begin our day with the right attitude and the right spiritual diet. Proverbs has 31 chapters, and most months have 31 days, so let's read a chapter of Proverbs a day and see what God might have for us. As the Lord leads, share with us what God has shown you in a special way and by His grace let us build up a devotional repository. Let's keep our knives and forks handy for some daily bread! Ideally, a chapter or two of Proverbs will fit in nicely with a good plan of reading our Bibles through each year.

If anyone would like to be added to the ping list, please let me know either by post or by p.m.
