FOURTH WEEK OF EASTER

JOHN 14:1–6

Friends, in today’s familiar and majestic passage, Jesus exhorts us to trust him: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me.”

So much depends on the spiritual meaning of the little word “trust.” Jeremiah the prophet laid it out as starkly and simply as possible: “Cursed is the man who trusts in human beings, who makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.” And conversely, “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, the Lord will be their trust.”

What does it mean to trust, to turn one’s heart to God? It means to root the whole of one’s life in God, and not to ground our concerns in the things of this world: wealth, power, pleasure, and honor.

Ask yourself: “What is the center of gravity in my life?” The Bible consistently proposes this question. For example, read the book of Joshua, when Joshua lays it on the line for the people of Israel: “Do you serve the Lord or some other gods?” That’s the question being asked of you today.

"God is not a force or an energy or a spiritual presence occupying the deep background of your life; he’s not something that you can tap into when you feel like it. Nor is God a distant supreme being who organized the universe long ago and now leaves it to its own devices.

Yet, it is Bobby Barron's "hope" that we should not trust Jesus when He warns us there are souls in Hell and there are souls who will go the Hell.

Barron speaks with a forked tongue.

That’s a laugh....
YOU of all people questioning a Bishop- who’s spent MOST OF HIS LIFE IN SERVICE to Jesus Christ.... while you sit behind your keyboard fear mongering the unknowing....

And so anyways- look around for a change.... who do you see That you can name “Trusts” in the Lord? I’m wondering who really trusts in the lord..... or is just PRETENDING TO TRUST....? I want to say I trust in the Lord...But do I?
we better all realize ALL OF US come up short in that department.... rather than strutting around like peacocks so proud of our devotion to Christ.... Trust ? Gimme a break..... ALL OF US are like the young man in the Gospel .... and if there is someone who isn’t - I sure as hell would like to meet THAT person......

18 He said to him: Which? And Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.
19 Honour thy FATHER and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

And this hell you are so pre-occupied with? Who is in it?
Do you have names? The Church DOES NOT DENY THE EXISTENCE OF HELL....but has also not declared WHO IS IN HELL..... but you seem to have some inside information 2000 years of The Church has missed.....
Even Judas.... Do we know he is in hell? Yes Christ he kept them all but one.... Judas?
Yes...While we can ASSUME that is what Christ saying.....BUT NO WHERE HAS IT EVER BEEN DECLARED SO.... unless you have some info....

While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those whom thou gavest me have I kept; and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture may be fulfilled.

Actually, it's you and Bobby Barron who hope Hell is unoccupied.

That's not what Jesus Christ taught us.

I find it interesting you brought up Judas.

Do you also have this picture of a naked Jesus caressing Judas in your domicile as Bergoglio does? I wouldn't doubt if Barron has one in his rectory.

[23] But he answering, said: He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, he shall betray me. Yes this ego-centric Pope is a radical....because he is very weak theologically...nothing new there...but hes still our Pope.
So you know who is in hell? I mention Judas because we assume he is in hell-assume- as Christ said ALL but one was lost....but the CHURCH HAS NEVER DECLARED ANYONE IN HELL..... so I'll ask again....

According to you, Who is in hell??

I have no idea, Murph. Nor am I one to judge.

But I take Jesus Christ for His Word that there are souls in Hell and souls will go there.

I’m not a protestant like Barron. Are you? Do you believe Jesus lied and Hell could be empty?
