Where did you get such nonsense? You better hope redemption is real or you’re in big trouble. Faith without good works is dead friend. You don’t have Jesus Christ in your heart unless you thirst to do good works. Taking a Bible verse here and one there to fit God into your belief system will not bring you closer to Him.

Your understanding is very shallow. When James wrote his letter it was the first New Testament writing. The Gospels had not even been written yet. Be careful what you call 'nonsense', especiallyt with your so muddled understanding of the way a Jew in the time of James would use the term you are seeing, dead faith'. It does not mean gone from existence, it refers to non-functioning faith so James writes to explain how to active their faith in Christ.
