In any event- it was good convo... Purgatory presents the antithetical to Faith alone... so yes its a deep divide...
For me - I know I was washed in Baptism.... but am gonna need some shining up to get into the Big House......

The ONLY need for us sinners is that we believe Jesus is Whom God sent for our Salvation. After that the process of Sanctification is in order.
The astonishing reality of God's Grace to us is that once we are Justified by HIM, there is no thing we can or can't do that will remove our Justification by Him for us. So even the blasphemy of thinking you can eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus will not cancel the Justification God does, for He is God Justifying you to Himself, not you justifying you to God.
