No, you go because your religion tells you it's a mortal sin, if you miss mass, and will go to hell until that mortal sin is confessed to a priest. Your religion scares you into attendance.

I get the idea that there is no sin in your faith.... but to willfully - NOT remember the Sabbath and NOT keep it holy- yes we do in fact break a commandment- a commandment that carries the same weight as the other 9 - and something to Fear indeed. Confession is humbling yes.... but its not that hard to tell God that one is heartily sorry for offending God..if youre truly sorry...its actually invigorating to do so...

Thats what sinners do... We turn our backs on God when we put anything ahead of his Eucharist... and thats the essence of missing Mass. If one hour a week is too much to ask of someone in the worship of God.... well maybe that someone ought to look for another "religion".

Weekly Mass attendance goes back to the First Century.... documented just decades after the Resurrection. You can see the "rules" are already in place.

The Didache (70 A.D.)
“Assemble on the Lord’s day, and break bread and offer the Eucharist; but first make confession of your faults, so that your sacrifice may be a pure one. Anyone who has a difference with his fellow is not to take part with you until he has been reconciled, so as to avoid any profanation of your sacrifice

WOAH, we have a superhero among us!

Magically reading the minds and knowing the motives of 16th Century theologians is a really heckin’ lame superpower, though.

Not gonna get you into the Avengers.

Like Catholics actually obey the Sabbath?

We all know better, especially those of us raised Catholic.

One "hour" a week, coming in late and leaving early, is NO sacrifice at all.

For born again believers we consider every day of our lives to be a sacrifice to God in obedience to Him.

Romans 12:1-2 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
