Yes, wicked doctrine from the devil. It is incumbent upon us to read the Word ourselves, to really know what God is telling us. Listening to priests and others TELL us what God is saying is wicked unto itself

More Protestant nonsense...Jesus Church has stood for two thousand years. Cracker Jacks theology will not change the truth of Catholicism.

Been a while since there was a full-on Protestant-Catholic fight on FR.
Ummm....the holiest one wins!

“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” ~From Romans 6

Protestantism called the Church (the fellowship of all believers not a man made denomination like the Roman church) back to the truth of scripture and away from the heresies the Roman church was propagating on its people. But enjoy your apostate denomination with its works righteousness, Mary worship, Pachamama worship, failure to condemn gay marriage as sin and all the wonderful historic heresies piled on with new ones by your wonderful pope.

something the Romans to this day cannot understand. The heart changed by Jesus hates sin not revels in it.

Boy, that’s a real valid argument, NOT!!!

Why don’t you try offering the scriptural basis for purgatory in the New Testament, from the words of the New Testament and not a Catholic Catechism book. If you can.

The most dangerous false doctrine is the private interpretation of scriptures (”they wrestle with the scriptures to their own destruction!”) (”No prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation”), Closely followed by once saved always saved. “ I work out my salvation in fear and trembling” saith the apostle Paul.
Sola scriptural and sola fide. Two death nails. “The Church is the bulwark and pillar of all truth!” “The Church is ONE as Jesus and the Father are one!” The 39,000 Christian denominations are music to Satan’s ( who is the master of division) ears. “Unless you eat me flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you. For my flesh is TRUE FOOD! Does this offend you?” The words of Jesus Christ be praised and v heeded!

I suppose you could compare it to a student working on a project to gain "extra credit" to make up for some bad grades.

Right off the bat, the author misstates what the RCC teaching on purgatory really is.

In Matthew 18, Jesus gives us the understanding of Purgatory.
Purgatory is the basis for Matt 18:21-35.

So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?”

>>>“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.”

And if we do sin? then what? No need in repenting cause you are already “under grace” and forgiven...ergo...no worries! Sin some more!

I don't know any Catholic (or any other Christian, for that matter) that revels in sin.

If purgatory exists, it probably runs on lotus notes.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” From 1 John 1.
