Third Week of Easter
John 6:44–51
Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus offers himself as food for the soul. There is a great truth revealed in the bread of life discourse: it is the law of the gift. This personal, incarnating God wants to be eaten and drunk, to be radically and fully for the other.
Why were the gods of the ancient world so popular? Because they were projections of ourselves—vain, arrogant, resentful, violent. This means that they put little moral pressure on us. They were frightening but not morally demanding.
But this God who shows that he is totally love, and who wants us to eat and drink him in, is the God who wants us to be like him. As he is food and drink for the world, so we must be food and drink for the world. As he gave himself away utterly, so we must give ourselves away utterly.
We’re not to cling to the goods, honors, and values of the world—all those things that aggrandize the ego—but rather give ourselves away. That’s what we learn from the God of the gift.

Justin Martyr (100-165AD)
And this food is called among us Εὐχαριστία [the Eucharist], of which no one is allowed to partake but the man who believes that the things which we teach are true [assents to the doctrine of the Church], and who has been washed with the washing that is for the remission of sins, and unto regeneration [baptism], and who is so living as Christ has enjoined [no mortal sin; in a state of grace]. For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Savior, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word [the words of institution/consecration], and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation [what the Church codified as “transubstantiation”] are nourished, is the flesh and blood of that Jesus who was made flesh [the Real Presence]. For the apostles, in the memoirs composed by them, which are called Gospels, have thus delivered unto us what was enjoined upon them; that Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, said, “This do in remembrance of Me,” [Luke 22:19] “This is My body”; and that, after the same manner, having taken the cup and given thanks, He said, “This is My blood”; and gave it to them alone.

St. Justin Martyr nailed it on the Blessed Sacrament.
Bobby Barron blew it however.
As he is food and drink for the world, so we must be food and drink for the world.
Comparing the supernatural graces Catholics receive in the sacrament of Holy Communion of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, with what charity. as imperfect as it is, we can show to our neighbors, is a a great disregard of the sacrament.
No one, Murph, can pass on the food and drink, except Catholic priests.

Thank You for the cordial response. We can be sure this Bishop fully understands that the Transubstantiated consecration is only entrusted to the Clergy through the Order of the Holy Spirit.
And he is not speaking about charity here...in that, anyone can have charity, jews, hindus...even Atheists... Not a popular truth..but Charity does not distinguish us as Christians... thats the "Church of Nice"
No, no... here he speaks of Evangelism... going out into this dark world in a way only those who, nourished by the Body, Blood Soul and Divinity of Christ, can do.. proclaiming The Word made Flesh and so then, metaphorically, feeding others in the world - similarly how Christ feeds his sheep through the Church.
With the hope of course being that the hungry of the world will say..."I want what he - or she - is having...:

Rather, he (Barron) argues that it is the laity, not the clergy, who must fight the legal and cultural battles in the public square. To support this claim, he cites the Vatican II document Lumen Gentium, which states that “the laity, by their very vocation, seek the kingdom of God by engaging in temporal affairs and by ordering them according to the plan of God.” In Bishop Barron’s reading, this means that the bishops need to attend to Church matters more or less exclusively while laypeople live out their Catholicism in the secular world.
It is difficult to know what the bishop has in mind for how this looks. Do clergy busy themselves with discussing theology, attending synods, and filming award-winning documentaries about Catholicism while all laypeople proselytize at their jobs, guard church property in their free time, and debate enemies of the Church online or in person whenever possible?
Bishop Robert Barron Criticizes “Preoccupation with Pelvic Issues”
Bishop Robert Barron has said he does not believe the church should seek to overturn the U.S. Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision that legalized marriage equality in the United States. Barron, an Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, also criticized an obsessive focus on “pelvic issues” because it diminishes Christianity and undermines evangelization.
When will you wise up, Murph?

This is the core concept of your faith....you need to understand this....
But this God who shows that he is totally love, and who wants us to eat and drink him in, is the God who wants us to be like him. As he is food and drink for the world, so we must be food and drink for the world. As he gave himself away utterly, so we must give ourselves away utterly.
The Body of Christ is the Eucharist that we consume into our being...we dont regurgitate that..it becomes part of us.....
This is NOT saying we should be giving Communion to people. No....WHAT WE MUST GIVEAWAY TO THE WORLD IS OUR NOURISHED BEINGS- as that is the will of God....(Well were supposed to do this anyway... however we all pretty much fail spectacularly in this concept ...Except fir St. Mother T of course...)

The author of the article is Bishop Barron and the topic is his claim that we can pass on "food and drink" of the Body of Christ to others.
The man is a heretic. I pray for him. I hold no anger; but I am concerned about your blind support of such a heretic.

That's a hope based in fear.... Why should I fear?
Fear is the basis for Anger... I have no need for either of those...
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

That's a hope based in fear.... Why should I fear? You shouldn't fear; after all, both you and Bobby Barron hope Hell could very well be empty, despite what Christ says.
