My first thought on this is how could any politician by holy enough for sainthood.

Then I recalled that quite a few kings were canonized back in the day, and they made it in despite a fair amount of war and bloodshed.

Replacing it with an authoritarian regulatory apparatus run by the same oligarchy regimes that engineered the cycles of war, defeat and revenge. The desire for totalitarian rule is still there, just other less violent means have been devised to achieve it. Robert Schuman was a highly influential humanist and possible high ranking Free Mason who was notorious for pushing an anti Christian and anti Catholic agenda .

From a Christian perspective , Schuman was a man who wished to infiltrate the clergy to fundamentally change the Catholic Church's mission from service to Jesus and salvation of souls to a secular social services organization based on a Marxist/humanist philosophy with a goal fo supporting an united, secular European state (ie, the EU) with an eventual goal of a united world government

Francis is one of his collaborators Schuman may be a saint in some church but he is an anti saint from a Judaeo Christian perspective.

I’ve never heard of him, but from the looks of it, he was also apparently in favor of world government:
