That kind of communalism can only work on a very small scale.
And as soon as government gets involved in controlling who gets what — that IS communism.

Biblical charity is when an individual decides on his own to go help someone else.
Communism is when the heavy fist of government takes stuff by force and gives part of it to other people.
Free people can recognize the difference.

I share with those in need . . . by choice and out of Christian charity.
Communists and Socialists share other people’s money because they are thieves.
These are not in any way similar.

Sharing with each other is ok, especially with the disabled, widows, and orphans.
Having your productivity and property forcibly seized and distributed to those who aren’t as productive or are outright lazy isn’t Christian or biblical.
Look no further than the the parable of the talents for an example.

Sharing goods not communism but pure Christianity, pope says.I'll believe it when Frank is the only "Christian" voluntarily rooming with 5000 Muslims in what used to be the Vatican.

If it is compulsory it isn’t “sharing” by definition.

Dear pope:
Sharing is Christianity, having your stuff taken from you and given to someone else is communism.

LOL If communism is an expression of Christian charity, why do all communist regimes start by outlawing Christianity?

Sharing implies that it is voluntary. Confiscation of goods is not sharing.

The Book of Acts describes what happened to the Christians in Jerusalem who tried “having everything in common.” They were always poor. William Bradford described the same result when the Pilgrims tried it. It didn’t work. They almost starved to death.
Micah 4:4 describes the Millennial Kingdom: “But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, And no one shall make them afraid; For the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.”
Personal property is part of the Kingdom of God. Good enough for me.
