Perhaps it is safe to assume that the pastor believes in God. It is obvious that he does not believe God, because God defined marriage as being between one man and one woman. God was not ambiguous when he said it. There is nothing else to learn from anyone regardless of the nature of their relationship.

RE: Perhaps it is safe to assume that the pastor believes in God.

Most everyone wo goes to church say they believe in God. But WHAT KIND OF GOD do they believe in?

The moment they learn that this God they claim to worship gives moral commands and precepts that they find uncomfortable, they quickly create an idol of a god and worship it in order to bypass the command.

If you ever have the chance, ask a liberal pastor if he/she/it believes that Jesus of Nazareth was God Incarnate. Be prepared for the answer..
