KANSAS CITY, Kansas, March 25, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — It was Halloween when Jane Bernardel, a homeschooling mom of 11, was hauled away by police for praying in an empty church without a mask.
It’s a Bernardel family tradition to attend Vespers and recitations of the litany of the saints on Halloween, the eve of the great feast of All Saints, to sanctify a day they see as having been secularized. On Halloween 2020, Bernardel and some of her children prayed at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
“We went in and got in our pew and it was empty, no one was there. It was really dark,” Bernardel told LifeSiteNews in an exclusive video interview.
The family prayed the rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet for about 30 minutes. Then, Bernardel saw Father Gary Ziuraitis, CSsR, staring at her from the sacristy.

After reading the article it sounds like it might be time to reconsider their religious affiliation.
I am so over this whole covid crap. IT HAS BEEN OVER A WHOLE FRICKING YEAR.
Maybe for the faithless priest; but not for the mother and her children.
Maybe this will wake her up to join a Bible preaching/believing Christian church.
Boy, that’s pretty messed up to call the cops on your own parishioner. My and my family would be attending and donating elsewhere.
What do you bet this same “priest” would hide illegals in his church without hesitation ?
Even in crazy lady run New Mexico not wearing a mask is just a mandate violation that gets you a citation. Only if you become an idiot disturbing the peace or trespassing and refusing to leave would you have broken a law that gets you arrested. Maybe there’s more to the story otherwise this town is crazy arrest happy.
Wherever the Body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
No masks on the priest, altar boys, or lay faithful. Holy Communion only on the tongue. Holy water fonts are full. No roped off pews.
And it's been going on all through this silly scamdemic. We had Easter Mass last year and we're having it again this year.
And there's been not one reported case of the Wu Flu among any of our parishioners.
So much for that “sanctuary” concept. I guess that’s only for illegal aliens and child molesters. A mom wanting to pray and these clowns turn states evidence at the drop of a hat.
Agree...time to move on. Seem to recall Christ “threw” these kind of church officials out of the church.

Unbelievable. The priest and bishop should be praising this woman for her faith and wantung to attend church while others were truck or treating. Since when is going to church and saying the rosary trespassing? So many people have stayed away from church this year. Many will never return.
