OK...then the answer would be no....but like children we grow in our faith where we have learned the walk of faith and freedom from the law that was met in Christ Jesus.

So, if you DON’T keep God’s commandments out of love to him, when he clearly tells you to, what then?

And, congratulations is in order. You are the first person to admit to me that keeping God’s commandments out of love for him, for what he did for us on the cross, is not salvation by works, but simply showing our faith by “works”

You get a cookie.

That’s a very fine line you’re drawing....your salvation ‘never’ depends on your works, just to be clear about that. Our salvation security is not dependent on anything at all that we do....it’s totally in Him alone...including the good we do....

We are saved by grace (faith unto salvation), alone. I agree 100%.

I’ll ask this question again to you: So, if you DON’T keep God’s commandments out of love to him, when he clearly tells you to, what then?

I wonder how much kicking until this happens?

26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

AS A SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CULT MEMBER you are still in the dark. You are still under the specious belief that you must work to retain salvation. Tat is anathema to the Gospel of Grace, for it amounts to working to make salvation secure which belief amounts to sharing the glory because you believe you can earn the glory.

The spirit within you rephrases and twists and turns, but continues to push works for salvation. IF you actually believed 100% then you would not add anything to retraing that which you cannot give to yourself. IF you actually believed God's Promise you would not presume He needs your works as a condition to be alive in Him. ONLY God is due the glory, never and by no means will any work you proudly assert be accepted to earn what ONLY GOD can give because HE loves. Get that straight, cultist, His Grace comes to one then born again because HE LOVES.

Your gotcha game is once again exposed, cultist. You are clever ... but Jesus tells you to depart for your tricky phrasing still amounts to He never Knew you. BTW, a Muslim devotee or a Hindu devotee loves their god but it doen't earn them anything at all. GOD shows us HIS love in that HE died for us. You can't add to that in order to earn or retain His Life in the human spirit.

In your pride of self you fail tyo recognize your error in using the following verse as your gotcha passge: "26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins

Mental knowledge is not 'receiving The Truth' INTO the human spirit. THAT level of 'pisteuo' (the Greek word you need to comprehend) is an act of the will not the mind of the soul.

Is keeping God’s commandments out of love for him works?

When you keep the Commandments out of love you don't even think of keeping God's Commandments...They are burned into your heart...It is in your heart to do good...However, no one has ever kept the Commandments (outside of Jesus) and no one ever will...

The Ten Commandments are a list of offenses against God and your neighbor...That's why we need to love God AND our neighbors...

You and I will not keep the 10 Commandments...We will fail...We will not succeed...

So then what???

In God's eyes, all the Commandments are equal...If you shoot the neighbor's kid for antagonizing your cat or if you heist a watermelon out of you neighbors patch it's all the same to God...Or if you tell a lie...

So when you're kneeling up there before the Throne of God with nothing but the constellations under your feet, and he asks, 'did you keep all my Commandments' and you say 'NO', then what???

You are confusing the 2...

God's Commandments are the 10 Commandments, the Law...

Jesus' Commandments are 2...And as opposed to the law, Jesus' Commandments are love...

God's law comes from your head...Jesus' Commandments are not laws and they come from your heart...

God says, 'follow my laws or you will pay the price'...
Jesus says, 'I have paid the price for you'...Follow my laws because you love me...

1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Jn 3:3  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

We are purified, pure...Right now...

1Jn 3:9  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

If you can't reconcile all of it, you can't reconcile any of it...Just cherry picking verses like that does not move you ahead in God's wisdom class...

However, no one has ever kept the Commandments (outside of Jesus) and no one ever will...

14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

So who do I believe, God or Iscool? Hmmmm.

Time for s ome Bible study

You lifted two verses from Hebrews 10 to try and make a gotcha. You failed to see the context both globally and specifically, for the writer is addressing HEBREWS. The writer is contrasting salvation by works of the law and salvation by Grace alone in Christ alone, not adding works.

Here are the two verses IN CONTEXT; the writer is addressing Hebrews, some of whom still commit the sin of not believing that Jesus IS their Messiah, so the contrast between trusting in Him and just receiving the spoken word about Him is contrasted by the Holy Spirit:

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Now cultist, if you wish to argue for works, argue with the context before you. And since you need so much help, read the entire chapter to see that the writer is not supporting works as under the old covenant of works of the law but is presenting the gift of God in Christ alone by faith alone.

Doth not commit sin. That is, he does not continue to sin, or he does not habitually sin (see on v. 6; the form of the Greek verb here is the same as it is there). The apostle thus characterizes those who have been born of God. They have experienced the new birth, their natures and changed, and they resemble their heavenly Father (see on John 3:3–5; 1 John 3:1). They hate the sin they used to love, and love the virtue they used to despise (see on Rom. 6:2, 6; 7:14, 15). Such people do not continue slaves to their old sins, they do not habitually commit their old mistakes. Divine power has given them the victory over those weaknesses, and is ready to aid them in overcoming other faults of which they may not previously have been aware

Cannot sin. Or, “is not able to go on sinning,” or “is not able to go on habitually sinning.” This does not mean that the Christian is incapable of committing a wrong act. If he were unable to sin, there would be no virtue in his being without sin, and there would be no true development of character. John has already implied that he will make occasional mistakes (see on ch. 2:1). The passage means that, having been born of God, and having God’s life-giving power dwelling in him, he cannot continue his old pattern of habitual sin. He now follows the sinless ideals that have been implanted in his soul by the new birth.

Cite your sources, Adventist. And you err in asserting the power is present in the spirit of the born again when the Bible states His Seed ABIDES in the born again spirit. The power came upon men of old and would leave them also. In This Age of Grace GOD abides in the born again and is Promised to be there FOREVER not leaving ... why never leaving? Because where the Life of GOD ABIDES there cannot be sin.

Here’s some news for you and your prophets Andy Woods and Margaret Macdonald. There is neither Greek nor Jew. We are all one in Christ and in so being will be JUDGED by the law of God.

11For God does not show favoritism. 12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who will be declared righteous.

On the list of Satan’s greatest lies are:

Once saved, always saved (AKA commit as much sin as you want because you’re still going to heaven)
No one can keep God’s commandments
Pre trib rapture

Because where the Life of GOD ABIDES there cannot be sin.

I’m sure Ravi believed that too. If he did rape those women (and I’m not saying he did), maybe he told them it wasn’t a sin (when we all know it is). But you say that even if Ravi DID RAPE THOSE WOMEN, it wasn’t a sin, “BECAUSE THERE CANNOT BE SIN WHERE THE LIFE OF GOD ABIDES”

Or maybe, just maybe, I’m right in reference to post 75. And then, of course, post 78 applies.

By the way, why would Jimmy Swaggart have had to ask forgiveness for ADULTERY? What’s the big deal, right? Iscool says no one can keep God’s law anyway, right? Adultery is a sin, right?
