Evil is simply live spelled backwards
Just for some reference... Here is the same verses from the Geneva bible (Predating the King James) with it’s footnotes (). I started reading the NIV a couple years ago because the language of the King James was just hard to read and then I did a verse by verse bible study using the NASB, that so far has made it up through Daniel https://freerepublic.com/~aznascarfan/.
The Geneva makes it seem like both of the other two have tried to sugar coat God’s word.
20)Woe unto them that speak good of evil, (Which are not ashamed of sin, nor care for honesty, but are grown to a desperate impiety) and evil of good, which put darkness for light and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for sour. 21)Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes (which are contemners of all doctrine and admonition) and prudent in their own sight. 22)Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, (which are never weary, but show their strength, and brag in gluttony and drunkeness.) and unto them that are strong to pour in strong drink: 23) Which justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him.
Neutral good was always the alignment I chose. That way you could do what needs doing to further the cause of good. Including fighting evil.
