I grew up attending a conservative United Methodist church in my rural hometown. It was a wonderful Bible-based church filled with wonderful people. Today it is run by a liberal female minister. When I recently drove by the UMC I attended in my college town, there was a rainbow flag flying outside along with a big Black Lives Matter banner. I stopped attending UMC years ago because it was increasingly difficult to find a UMC that didn’t have a liberal minister. The UMC in my current town is facing a split because the new minister acted like a conservative during his interview but is now showing his true leftist colors.
Female minsters tend to do that. When I first moved to Nashville, found a great little church with a female minister whose preaching was on line. I listened to them and she dealt with the bible and Gods word, period. That was October 2016. Once Trump got in, TDS took over and going to church was like attending service at the Church of MSNBC. Finally left a year and a half ago. Our paster is a black man from Uganda and the church although virtually empty thanks to COVID, Is back on track with the Lord.
