If you obey the two commandments Jesus told us to, you won’t be disobeying the others. He clearly said that ALL the law and the prophets were wrapped up in those two commandments. This is His New Covenant, sealed by His own shed blood. It is the reason we are not required to sacrifice animals for our sins. He once, for all, atoned for our sins. Our obedience is to keep those two commandments. Do we frequently fail? Of course. We’re fallible humans, just like the Israelites were. They couldn’t keep the law. The Bible says it was given to show how sinful we are, how unable we are to do it on our own. It was given as a preparation for the coming of Jesus the Messiah, who could pay the penalty for our sins FOR us, because he was without sin, and the perfect sacrifice God demanded. But because we now “have an Advocate with the Father, who ever lives to make intercession for us” we are able to repent when we sin, and stay in fellowship with the LORD.
You had better clear that with Boatbums. She went to bible college.
This is the new covenant.
I think you are off the reservation on this one. Check with Boatbums.
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
That Christians are not responsible to keep the law of God is one of the greatest lies Satan has ever spread. Many professed Christians will lose their salvation because of it, because they will be workers of iniquity.
