BCE is how Jews reference what you would reference as before the birth of that guy that we do not believe has any holy significance, if he actually existed. Hence before the common era, rather than before what’s his name.

Do any gentiles use the BCE thing? You certainly know that it is based on the birth of the baby Jesus, our lord and savior. You seem to have an aversion to using his name. Do you use words like Wednesday, Thursday, January, etc? Do you find them offensive? I’m a follower of what the 21st koan of the Mumonkan calls “Ein aufgetrockneter Schmutzspalel.” I’m really not offended by anything, but it’s really sad to see Western civilization going into the crapper.
