The Dems will say no need for SOTU address anymore. Problem solved.
They’ll just go back to the written form — a report to congress. That’s the way it used to be.
I’m also hearing an idea being floated that they might not do away with the senate filibuster entirely. What they would do is do away with a simple ‘declaration’ and go back to the old form of holding the floor and preventing any senate business. That would certainly make filibusters more selective.
It will be a virtual one made up of minute long sound bites of biden speaking, all strung together as if he gave the whole speech at once.
It’d probably takes weeks to record and paste together.
