Devotional for Today: Proverbs Chapter 3
The Word of God, King James Version | "In the Beginning, God..." | The Lord Jesus Christ, Creator of Heaven and Earth

When you study and meditate on The Word and devote a special time at the beginning of your day to spend time with the Lord Jesus in prayer and thanksgiving, it is a form of worship in Him. Of course our Everlasting Father rejoices in this, as He very, truly only wants the very best for us--and knows the end from the beginning, for He is the Creator of All Things.

Let us not go through our day today without acknowledging Christ in everything we set out to do, as He lovingly wants to guide our path, and to speak to our spirit with His Holy Spirit within us to warn us of things that we may encounter--both day and night, that are either evil, or dangerous, or both.

Our Precious Lord and Savior has saved my life many a time, prompting me within my spirit and sometimes with words spoken within my mind. The Scriptures confirm this from Genesis to Revelation, and He still does this today--for He is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever.

Proverbs 3:1,

"My son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments:"

(Vs.2) "For length of days, and long life (Hebrew: "years of life"), and peace, shall they add to thee."

(Vs.3) "Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck: write them upon the table of thine heart:"

(Vs.4) "So shalt thou find favour and good understanding (Or, success) in the sight of God and man."

(Vs.5) "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."

(Vs.6) "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

(Vs.7) "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil."

(Vs.8) "It shall be health (Or, medicine) to thy navel, and marrow (Or, watering, or moistening) to thy bones."

Beloved, did you know that a great amount of our immunity resides within our digestive tract? And now we have found that by eating healthy and drinking an abundant amount of water, including the utilization of prebiotics and probiotics (yogurt or via capsule), our immune system gets that much-needed boost! Not to forget the marrow within our bones, which is one of the two "primary lymphoid organs". Bone marrow produces red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells (lymphocytes) in which T and B cells play the main role in fighting off illnesses. There are many different types of white blood cells. Praise the Lord for helping us to see this confirmation in His Word!

(Vs.9) "Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thine increase:"

(Vs.10) "So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine."

(Vs.11) "My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD, neither be weary of his correction:"

Beloved, consider this: as a true believer in Christ Jesus, you should feel a 'check' in your spirit if you have done wrong, and to go and correct it in repentance and action. If you do not encounter this at all, you have likely become hardened in your heart or are engaging in the belief system / actions of this fallen world, outlined in many Scriptures. Old wineskins cannot hold the New Wine of a new Life in Christ Jesus; you cannot live like this fallen world lives (the old life without a Savior and Lord, the old wineskins) and hold to proclaiming to others "I am a Christian". God forbid!

The closer you draw to Jesus, He will draw closer to you. But when you forsake His Word to draw near or to immerse yourself in the ways of the world, the Holy Spirit's voice within your spirit draws weaker. In staying in the Word of God and obeying it, in spending time with Him, the Holy Spirit will literally chase you down in order to save you from error, and sometimes to save your very life!

(Vs.12) "For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth."

(Vs.13) "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding."

(Vs.14) "For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold."

(Vs.15) "She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her."

(Vs.16) "Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour."

(Vs.17) "Her way are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace."

(Vs.18) "She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her."

(Vs.19) "The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens (Or, prepared)."

(Vs.20) "By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew."

(Vs.21) "My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion."

(Vs.22) "So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck."

(Vs.23) "Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble."

(Vs.24) "When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet."

(Vs.25) "Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh."

(Vs.26) "For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken."

(Vs.27) "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due (Hebrew, "the owners thereof"), when it is in the power of thine hand to do it."

(Vs.28) "Say not unto thy neighbour, Go and come again, and to morrow I will give, when thou hast it by thee."

(Vs.29) "Devise not evil against thy neighbour (Or, Practice no evil), seeing he dwelleth securely by thee."

(Vs.30) "Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm."

(Vs.31) "Envy thou not the oppressor (Hebrew, "a man of violence"), and choose none of his ways."

(Vs.32) "For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous."

(Vs.33) "The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just."

(Vs.34) "Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly."

(Vs.35) " The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools (Hebrew, "exalteth the fools")."

Amen, and AMEN!
