That's more of an issue to me.

What ever floats your boat, Campion.

Any vaccine developed with the use of aborted fetal stem cells, whether in testing or actual production, is an issue with me.

"An issue" is different from and less restrictive than "sinful material or formal cooperation in evil according to the teachings of the Church".

It's "an issue" to me, too. It remains to be seen if there will be another option. By the way, all chickenpox (and I think also shingles -- same virus) vaccines, at least some rubella vaccines, and one rabies vaccine are directly produced, not just tested, in fetal tissue cell cultures.

While not discussing the issue of vaccines and aborted fetal cell cultures directly, this is a pretty good discussion of the basic moral theology involved.

A good, but long-winded, discussion from the Vatican in 2003: link.

Executive summary as I understand it: "The production of such vaccines is wrong, it's wrong to require people to use them, if you are one of the people so required and there is no better choice available to you, you don't sin by using them."
