It appears foolish only to fools who try to justify infanticide research to preserve their own health. Go for it.
While using an aborted fetal cell line in testing is certainly regrettable, I don't follow the logic that the vaccine is eternally tainted by that association. Would you feel the same way if a cell line derived from an adult murder victim and used without his or her permission had been used for testing? We could go further: are you certain that you never use anything tested on animals in a cruel way? (Cruelty to animals is a sin, too, and can certainly be a mortal sin.)
Now, on the other hand, IIRC the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (not approved yet) IS produced using aborted fetal cell line tissue. That's more of an issue to me.
