Except that’s not what he said. He said if I tell you something that contradicts the catechism don’t listen to it. And it means exactly what it says. It’s essentially what Paul told his readers in Chapter 1 of Galatians.
I get what you’re saying. There are some potential problems on a philosophical level. If a priest says, “Ignore priests/bishops/cardinals/popes if they’re teaching something contrary to the Catholic faith,” but you believe that the Catholic faith requires you to NOT ignore priests/bishops/cardinals/popes, then you might be in some kind of endless loop of logic in deciding whether to follow this particular priest’s advice. Fair enough. But life isn’t a philosophy class. And if you start from the premise that it is possible for any one particular priest/bishop/cardinal/pope to teach error, which seems to be obviously true as of 2020, then the advice to ignore priests/bishops/cardinals/popes when you believe that they’re teaching error seems like sound advice in my book.
That’s a great point. You’re absolutely right. It is indeed essentially what Paul was saying in Galatians 1. If I or anyone, even an angel, tries to teach you a gospel other than the one that you as a Christian already know, don’t listen.
I walked away from the church because over they years I never heard a sermon denouncing homosexuality, illegal immigration, abortion or anything else.
It was just Kumbaya-flapdoodle nonsense that sounded a lot like this pope now in the Vatican. I still believe in the Trinity but I’m done with the ‘’sign of peace’’ hippy bs.
I hear ya. Other than weddings and funerals, I only do Latin Mass... no handshakes, no hugs, no dreadful hippie guitar ballads, no b.s. And only within the Latin Mass subculture do I hear straight talk from priests on abortion, homosexuality, politics, etc. I’ve seen several famous pro-life activists at my regular Latin Mass, so I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Where is this, if I may ask?
What makes you say that? It seems to me that it was good advice. When we have certain priests and bishops overtly claiming that homosexual acts are fine, shouldn’t a faithful Catholic reject that?
One would think that would be the case. Sadly, the Catholic church is a den of homosexual perversion. (just the kind of Church God would call his own, NOT!) Come out of her my people and be not partakers of her sins.....
Nah, it’s not the Adventist cult, which is, as you pointed out, a den of homosexuality. Why did your prophetess Ellen G white set up such a perverse cult in the 1850s? A cult that says Jesus is just the angel Michael in disguise
Is that you, Jesuit? From the church of Homosex blessings?
You must have been up all night researching Catholic pedophiles and perverts because you misquoted me. You said:
“Nah, it’s not the Adventist cult, which is, as you pointed out, a den of homosexuality.”
And I agree with you.....it’s NOT the Adventist (cult)...It’s the CATHOLIC CHURCH, which is a den of homosexuality.
Time and time again, Catholic priests abusing young boys, then going to see their gay Vatican friends for cocaine fueled orgies Friday and Saturday nights, then going to perform mass. It’s sickening.

“right next to St. Peter’s Basilica”
“homosexuality in the Vatican has “never been worse”
“4 in 5 Vatican priests are gay”
No one believes your lies, Cronie. You belong to a degenerate church full of homosexual predators. That is the sad truth.
Absolutely disgusting. And now your gay clergy wants it allowed via catechismal changes? Your church is truly perverted by Satan.
