"It was an evening of reunion between friends with a friend from the army", observes the prosecutor who recalls how this evening "had tipped towards a tragedy which could have been irreversible".On June 15, 2018, around 2 a.m., the victim left a bar located under the arcades, crossed the Jules-Ferry park and joined the nightclub opposite. He stops to light a cigarette, when a man calls out for one. In response to his refusal, the defendant threw himself on the victim, shouting "I'm going to mess you up!" », Stabbing him to the heart.
Vital prognosis engaged
The young Lorientais collapsed in a pool of blood. One of his friends gave a point of compression on him, while others intervened to subdue the author of the stabbing. “It all happened within minutes. In view of the seriousness of the facts on the part of "someone who had arrived on French territory less than a month before", the prosecutor asked for a sentence of five years in prison, with a definitive ban from the territory. Incarcerated since the event occurred, the court followed entirely the requisitions against the Tunisian Raef Mezhoud, 25 years old. A hearing will rule, next February, on the more than € 36,000 in damages claimed by the victim.

Pour le reste, c’est le néant. « Ce sont mes amis qui m’ont raconté ce qui s’est passé », explique le Lorientais qui, s’était réveillé dans sa chambre d’hôpital après être passé très près de la mort. « C’était une soirée de retrouvailles entre amis avec son pote de l’armée », observe le procureur qui rappelle comment cette soirée « avait basculé vers un drame qui aurait pu être irréversible ».
Le 15 juin 2018, vers 2 h, la victime quitte un bar situé sous les arcades, traverse le parc Jules-Ferry et rejoint la discothèque en face. Elle s’arrête pour allumer une cigarette, quand un homme l’apostrophe pour lui en réclamer une. En réponse à son refus, le prévenu se jette sur la victime, lui crie « Je vais te planter ! », en lui portant un coup de couteau au niveau du cœur.
Pronostic vital engagé
Le jeune Lorientais s’effondre dans une mare de sang. Un de ses amis lui prodigue un point de compression, pendant que d’autres interviennent pour maîtriser l’auteur du coup de couteau. « Ça s’est joué à quelques minutes. Quand les secours sont arrivés, il était en train de se vider de son sang », tempête Me Delaby, rappelant qu’à l’arrivée des secours son pronostic vital était engagé.
« On n’avait même pas commencé à parler, ils m’ont tapé direct », se défend le prévenu. Selon lui, il était dans le même bar que le groupe de la victime et, en sortant, il soutient avoir entendu des insultes à caractère racial.
Au vu de la gravité des faits de la part « de quelqu’un qui était arrivé sur le territoire français moins d’un mois avant », le procureur demandait sa condamnation à cinq ans de prison ferme, avec une interdiction définitive du territoire. Incarcéré depuis les faits, le tribunal a entièrement suivi les réquisitions à l’encontre du Tunisien Raef Mezhoud, âgé de 25 ans. Une audience statuera, en février prochain, sur les plus de 36 000 € de dommages et intérêts demandés par la victime.
