Look, we have here a Protestant criticizing the Catholic Church for lack of discipline.
I suppose each Cardinal could go off and create his own sect .. but then we would just have Protestantism.
I would think that faithful Roman Catholics would deplore the lack of discipline in the rc church.

Why pretend you don’t have a problem? You do! I don’t think it’s with the laity so much as the hierarchy.
It’s almost like the rcs have little denominations. Areas with faithful bishops are holding the line and areas without are not. And the current pope is very problematic. Not really very Roman Catholic from my vantage point.
