Exactly how I felt way back when the dark black reflection of our old religion stared back at me in the mirror decades ago.

I’m still a major work in progress however.

“I hope that makes sense.”

It makes sense. Sometimes I think I might not appreciate salvation the way those do who have lived a different life, and come out of it. I was saved when I was six or seven, and raised in a parsonage. I knew how precious it is/was, though. Since I was little when I prayed I always thanked God for being born in a home where I heard about salvation, and for being born in America.

I have an observation about what you said. You said you were saved at a young age. That is a great thing. I wish I had been also. I was 21, and I was already 2 years in the Air Force.
Now, let me make my observation. Don’t EVER admire someone who has a super dynamic testimony, about how horrible they were, before they saved. It’s good they get saved, but they might have been deeply involved in sin, such as drug abuse, as an example. God forgives their sins, but the damage done to their body or their psyche, might be there for a lifetime. Don’t admire that.
You are fortunate, to be spared some of the scourges that others have to deal with for their entire lives.

Don’t admire or reject a person’s life prior to their call to salvation it is their own story just as yours. It is the Lord’s perfect timing that brings all of our experiences good and bad to our testimony and if we will allow it He uses them to help teach, reach, and explain our GOD’s grace to each and every nonbeliever according to His perfect will.

Just look at all the people of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation every single one of them has a unique story that will reach or strengthen someone else.

Saved at 5 you have successes and failures, saved at 99 you just have a few more of both, but we ALL have scars. Our GOD’s grace is absolutely amazing no matter what your story is we are all sinners from conception and saved by His amazing grace.
