In the United States of America, no church may exist without the permission of the politicians. Therefore, the Church will give Joseph Biden whatsoever he may desire and will take every opportunity to celebrate and to promote preemptively his entire agenda, lest the Church lose its permission to exist. Republicans generally automatically support the existence of the Church and therefore win no concessions.

In the past the faithful still watched these accessories to murder receive; it just demonstrated that the Church leadership no longer believed in the Divine Presence.

Arguably, Francisco Franco did the same. But that was in an officially Roman Catholic country, so really not the same.
