Where is the split then between the quotes.
As I showed in my comment:
Quote 1: Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. Theyre children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out, or be made miserable because of it,
Quote 2: What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered, the pope said. I stood up for that.
They occur at different parts of the interview. The movie maker put the two together to make it seem like he was saying homosexuals have a right to form a new family, which he did not say. Maybe he supports that but he did not say it.
The article about the movie then correctly quoted the two separately. The editorial writer pasted them together with no ellipses between even though there are hundreds of words between the two quotes. That’s a 60 Minutes-style violation of journalistic ethics.
