To: ebb tide

After Mass today I told my parish I would not be back. I have been there 20 years, taught CCD, Extra-Ordinary Minister of the Eucharist, Lector, taking Communion to the homebound and a Catholic Daughter.

The priest in his homily said that the election was decided on Saturday and we should spend less time worrying about politics and examine our own lives and sins because we do not know the time and day when the Lord will come.

That was the final straw for me.

He has been begging every week saying we are in debt to the diocese because of the shutdown. So they are asking those of who are attending now to increase our weekly contributions to make up for the losses.

Now he says they have to have the name and phone number of everyone attending for contact tracing. When he announced this he shrugged and looked sheepish and said, “It’s not my rule, ha ha ha”.

I lost it. I said our ancestors were martyred by beheading, burning at the stake, fed to lions and skinned alive but the priests and bishops have done nothing to defend our right to worship in freedom.

We need shepherds, not other sheep. Shame on you!

Jvette I feel your pain. My AB applauded the “popes” statement of civil unions for homos. By the cowardly act of closing down the Catholic Church in Minneapolis/St Paul, the archbishop unleashed the power of evil that burned down the cities.

I found a very conservative church. The young priests tend to be conservative.

The First Shepherd who abandoned his flock was the pope in 1917 who ignored Mary’s demand to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart. The 20th century would have been less horible with Stalin all tied up and no Vatican II. We really made some bad decisions in 1917 for which we still suffer the consequences for ignoring God’s Mother.
