When Obama was in the White House my saying was "I want my Country back!" With Bergoglio in Peter's Chair I say "I want my Church back!

"Dia shábháil ar fad anseo!"

It’s OK, I can’t stand the Pope either.

Pope Francis’ agenda is purely a worldly one where Christ isn’t even needed. He’s even said that Europe is now “post-Christian”, and needs solutions to match.

We don't have a Pope. We have an arrogant secular ideologue who has angrily slapped the hand of a woman who grabbed on to his arm (yes, she was wrong to do this, but it was a rope line greeting and his anger betrays his impatience with that which he does not like or that inconveniences him).

He has entirely ignored Christ's ‘give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's’ teaching that put God where God belongs - above and beyond any secular authority. He is a political activist, and that is not what Christ taught.

He also fails to understand that God doesn't want puppets who are forced to do things (e.g. citizens under a dictatorial socialist government). The whole concept of omnipotence clearly means that God could force his will upon any of us. God hasn't done this, preferring us to be free-living individual beings with our own will and choices - and letting us choose our path. There is nothing about the soul-sucking suppression of individuality that Marxism pushes that is in ANY way consistent with Christianity.

I think we should all pray for this man, Francis, that he find his way.

In the meantime, I will not put money in any Catholic collection plate.

This was obvious from the first day Soros forced Pope Benedict out and installed this Jesuit Communist Pope. Karl Marx studied under the Jesuits.

Exactly, except that, by Church law, Francis cannot be pope under those conditions. Benedict is still the Pope. And it shows.

The Pope is not even a Christian.
No surprise that he is a hater.

Frankly, I couldn’t care less about what this “pope” likes or not. He’s just another garden variety Communist, anyway.

This lunatic, backward Pope doesn’t seem to know or like God. God can handle His of affairs.

He could very well be the False Prophet as described in Revelation. times. . . or a foreshadow of the real deal.

These two surreal developments are causing distress bordering on spiritual despair to conservative American Catholics.

As a lifelong Catholic I'm not in despair. I no longer care what my immoral church says. They used to stand strong on matters of faith and morals, but beginning with the orgies in the seminaries and the subsequent molesting of boys, all covered up at the highest levels, the corruption crept in ang grew. It's culminated with an open pagan heretic sitting on the Papal throne.

I think the Church is lost, it's turned it's back on God. It's merely a hedonistic left wing lobbying group now.

Sorry, but these are mostly Protestant or non-Christian critics. I asked whether the Jesuits in the 19th century were still orthodox Catholics or they had already become revolutionaries.

If you’re defining “orthodox” as non-controversial, the Jesuits have never fallen in that category, don’t fall in it today, and probably won’t fall in it going forward in the future.

I’m a traditional Catholic. I will be voting a straight red ticket, including Trump, no apologies. For all the things that people don’t like about Trump, his pro-life legislation and support for religious freedom is enough where he will get my vote. His legislation and choices for justices, especially ACB, is what has earned my vote. I don’t have any designs in my mind about whatever virtues Trump may or may not have. The alternative... the idea that ANY Catholic, including any pope, would root for a pro-abortion “Catholic” that is ALSO content to see the rest of us, including their own parish priest, pay for abortions... is just diabolical.

Some things are just NOT negotiable.

I define “orthodox” as faithful to the Magisterium.
