To: Hebrews 11:6

One of the most tragic tales in scripture, along with the rape of Dinah in Genesis.

I found the illustrations to be quite consistent in their portrayal of Tamar’s rejection of Amnon and Amnon’s lustful grabbing.

The desolation of Tamar is the most poignant of all.

Jonadab is an interesting character. He sought to ingratiate himself with the king’s son by ‘solving’ his problem, without regard to what was right and wrong. Very amoral. He portrays the kinds of people who gravitate toward people of power.

Great analysis! Try as I might, can't find anything to dispute! LOL. Big contribution to this thread.

the kinds of people who gravitate toward people of power.

It's a triple-whammy with them:

1. They are already corrupt initially when they first gravitate--their goals are earthly

2. Power itself corrupts them further

3. All the while, demons are enriched

The rape of Noah is the most tragic.
