I sympathize with this young lady...to a point. Why can't she define her own Christian belief in what SHE THINKS Christ would want for her today? Maybe Christ would agree with her that a violent rape should not be allowed to produce an unwanted child on earth as she sees it... She might say that it is even an act of MERCY .... what person can tell her otherwise?

Why can't I be my own Pope and decide just what Christ should mean to ME - and decide for myself what scriptures I will accept- and those I will reject?

This is America, of course you can do that. Just don’t be surprised if other Christians no longer consider you to be part of the fold once you decide that your judgement matters more than God’s.
