That was the purpose of the law to the Jews who unfortunately didn’t learn that lesson.

The “law” actually refers to the self-effort of the flesh which is the point. The self effort of the flesh is required to keep the law. The emphasis of the law is, “YOU SHALL NOT”. But the emphasis of the New Covenant of the grace of Christ is God saying, “I WILL” (Hebrews 8:10-12, 10:16-17).

So, yes, what brings us to Christ as unbelievers and believers is the futility of our own flesh and self efforts and attempts to be righteous instead of believing God has gifted us with his righteousness through Christ (Romans 6:17).

But the law must NOT be preached because it is not the Gospel of the Grace of Christ but another gospel that carries a double curse upon all those who preach the law instead of grace (Galatians 1:6-9).

Now you may be saying all of that and if so, God bless you. I just want to make it plain because what Paul warned has happened many times over: “[G]rievous wolves will enter among you...speaking perverse things...”(Acts 20:29-30) trying to “bewitch” the church with “another gospel” from following the true gospel of Christ (Gal 3:1-3).
