CNA Staff, Sep 29, 2020 / 02:30 pm MT (CNA).-
The lawyer representing Cardinal Angelo Becciu has resigned over criticism of his social media activities.
Ivano Iai, who had been handling legal and media matters for the cardinal and his family, announced that he had withdrawn from the case after criticism of pictures he posted on social media.
Iai, apparently a recreational body-builder, posted a series of photographs of himself in revealing swimwear on different social media sites, including Instagram and Twitter. In the photos, Iai appears in seaside settings, and strikes a number of attitudes and poses, including arching backwards across a rock and sporting playfully in the surf.
The attorney's Instagram account has now been set to private.
Iai served as attorney and spokesman for Cardinal Becciu and his family after the cardinal's resignation last week. The lawyer confirmed to CNA Sept. 29 that he had quit the role.
I gave up the job," Iai said in a statement sent to CNA on Tuesday, saying he was sorry that his social media presence had added to the difficulties of the cardinal and his family.
With great sorrow I communicate that I have renounced the mandate given to me by the Becciu family who honored me with their uncommon trust and affection, Iai said.
Iais resignation comes after mounting criticism and mockery online of his social media presence, including by the tabloid site Dagospia.

Taking a look at the Twitter posted photos... and the responses... I am guessing their is more than a professional relationship here.

I clicked on that link. Reeks of homosexuality, IMO.
If that is the objection causing the uproar, it seems justified to me from seeing the pictures.
It’s a “queer eruption” in Rome...............
Ugh. That is what I thought as well.
I just saw those, too.
Why cant it ever be a female attraction with men involved in and around the priesthood?
What level of endemic buggering is going on everywhere in the Catholic church?
Ping
This thread has no need of pictures.
I grew up Catholic, and have not been a practicing Catholic for most of my adult life. I personally have very valid and personal reasons that would justify my detesting the Catholic church, but...I don’t.
I don’t harbor any ill will towards Catholics or Catholicism. There are good, devout and decent Catholic clergy and church members.
That said, there is something seriously wrong with Catholicism right now. Their leadership in Rome has really taken a hard turn towards open and overt Marxism and homosexuality.
I find that deeply disturbing, as I am sure there are Catholics who feel much the same.

Sigh. It must be terrible to be a good and decent Catholic and see this happening. I am not a practicing Catholic, and it bothers me.
Family? As in wife spouse and children?
The Church has been infiltrated. Jesus +++ discussed this future of His Church, concerning these Shepherds and of the Many who would be lost, taken to perdition with them. He spoke of these events, He mused that upon His return, would Any be found who still believe.
These evil ones are not Catholic, long self-excommunicated, but openly blaspheming brothers of Anti-Christ, leading the way into Anti-Church.
The Church is not these devils. The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ, who by the grace of God and the Holy Spirit are made happy to work toward learning their ancient faith, keeping the pious Traditional practices, in the absence of sound teaching, so they may strain lovingly, toward Heaven, daily.
Ignore Rome. God is God and his sheep still know His voice.
I am not a Catholic, but I do pray to God.
And I pray for Catholics and their hijacked church.
Hell, I wish I looked that good in underwear...
