The Bible encourages us to meditate on it (Ps. 1:1-3, 119:11-16, etc.); these artists have done so, and their works can assist us and enrich our own thoughts about biblical characters, incidents and concepts, and increase our faith in He who is behind it all. As you encounter and consider these images and the related Scriptures and the Spirit enlightens your understanding, please share it with us!
But it is not only oil-on-canvas that can so help us; I refer to the astonishing video series The Chosen, which strolls through the four Gospels at the most leisurely pace. The eight episodes of Season 1 are finished, and the second of a planned seven seasons is coming soon. I say "leisurely" because after an entire years viewing Jesus still has only seven of the apostles (although He's preparing to call up Thomas from the minor leagues--but Thomas is skeptical, of course). Anticipating a canvas of fifty-plus hours instead of a movie's paltry two hours, The Chosen turns the characters (especially including Jesus!) into three-dimensional humans and brings the Gospels alive--you have never seen anything even remotely like it! Here is the Official Trailer.
Here is a link for free viewing of The Chosen: Works with your phone, tablet, and you can cast to your Roku or Chromecast. Last fall I paid $34.98 for DVDs and ongoing internet accessbest 35 bucks Ive ever spent (I dont recall how much our marriage license cost, but then it was 42 years ago).

Well, she wasn’t ‘Hard-Hearted Hanna, the Vamp of Savannah GA”!..................

Good advice.
Persistence in prayer pays off!
What a relief!
........... Or Hannah Montana.........................
As Jesus emphasized. You've nailed the main point. Hannah is laudable for her persistence in prayer and for keeping her promise once her prayer was answered, so she is our excellent example in those regards.
However, I am troubled by the decision to turn over Samuel to Eli at such a tender age, apparently without any prompting from God--the text lacks any indication that it was anything besides her idea.
What has always puzzled me is Samuel’s sons were not very good people. You would think that being raised by a man like Samuel they would be the epitome of Hebrew religion, but they weren’t...... Same goes for the sons of Eli..............
Mazal tov to Hannah and Methuselah on their 111 miracle babies!<<<>>>
Methuselah, grown from a seed radiocarbon-dated to the first century CE, was the oldest seed ever grown into a living plant and was the subject of papers published in the journal Science in 2008 and 2009.
Six of the 32 additional seeds chosen by Sallon sprouted under Soloweys care. They were warmed and hydrated slowly and gradually, fed a growth-promoting plant hormone and an enzyme fertilizer. They grew into healthy date palms dubbed Adam, Hannah, Judith, Jonah, Boaz and Uriel.
It's a fantastic report because Methuselah from Masada was set up on a blind date.. so to speak.. with Hannah from Qumran, and they were the perfect match.
Methusaleh was the oldest person who ever lived, and Hanna was barren, yet... 111 miracle babies, the same value as the very first Hebrew letter, alef.
Back to the beginning.
It's quite a familiar story. Is anything too hard for the Lord?
A possible explanation regarding Samuel’s parenting is that he was raised not by his mother and father, surely devastating in itself, but rather by Eli, whom we know produced two scoundrels.
Eli was very old and was most likely dead by the time Samuel had any sons...................
Now I know....
We’ll be seeing plenty more of old Eli in the final two episodes: he appears in nearly every picture.
Watched it all—always enjoyed them. Bell-bottoms!
Saw them live..................back in the day............
Always wanted to.
