I don’t agree with the policies of the democrats, but...

To say salvation is grace + not belonging to the democratic party is a heretical view.

There are two core doctrines of the Christian faith. Who God is and what is His plan of salvation for us. You can be grossly wrong on a lot of things but if you get those two right and put your faith in Jesus for the redemption of your sins, then you are saved.

To say someone can’t be Christian because their political views don’t line up is just wrong.

Your comment: “To say someone can’t be Christian because their political views don’t line up is just wrong.”

Jesus teaches that our salvation is based on Baptism (acceptance of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and Knowing, Loving and Serving Him by keeping His commandments.

The fifth commandment is “Thou shall not Kill” which includes the killing of innocent babies by abortion. And their other many other examples of rejection of God’s Truth.

One may claim to be a Christian, but the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith is heresy.CCC2089 Thus a denial of faith which merits eternal punishment in Hell and exclusion from the Kingdom of God.
