I have a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield.
Look at the S&W M&P Shield EZ.
Rumor has it it’s easier to rack and load the mag. Mine is still pretty stiff. I wish I had known about the EZ. I would have gotten that one instead.

It does use 9,mm which is hard to find.
.22 is still plentiful, but not as effective.
However, an empty gun does no one any good. The .22 can still at least wound.
