Well, one guy did through The Pachamama Statue in the Tiber, but she floated downstream and got rescued, unfortunately. But you’re right, not the huge outpouring of shock and disapproval that one would hope for. Breaks my heart.
There was disapproval in the real Catholic press and blogs, however the reality is that PF thinks no one can stop him. The people in the pews speak by not sending any money. Currently the Vatican is really hurting for money for their operating expenses. We await deliverance.
