Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Our Father In Heaven,
How Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone are Worthy To Be Praised and Worshiped,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
You Care for Every one of Your Creatures,
From the Mightiest Ruler of men down to the tiniest of plants.
Every seed that brings forth after its kind,
Every Person that has ever walked the earth,
Every star that explodes into a supernova,
Shrinks to a black hole and forms a galaxy,
And becomes the ocean of stars in the firmament,
Owes its very existence to You, and You Alone!
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

"OK, OK," says the Powers-That-Be. "You can go back to Church, but wear masks, sit six feet apart, and...NO SINGING!!!"
Seriously? Who came up with THAT? The entire Judeo-Christian Tradition involves Music, whether it be by a designated Clergy, a Cantor, a Choir, an Organist, a Band, an Orchestra, or even just the Congregation. In Our Religion, we SING. While other World Religions may involve rote prayers, solitary meditation, Philosophical Rumination, study of holy books, self-denial and good deeds, etc, it can be argued that the Faiths based on the Bible involve Music in their Worship. From a boy chanting his Torah portion on his Bar Mitzvah to Bach's B minor Mass, From David's dancing before the Ark to Handel's "Messiah", there is no escaping that fact. "NO SINGING!" REALLY??? ((((I am SO SICK of this nonsense!)))
Poor Jeremiah! He tried and tried to warn the King and the People that Disaster was coming, and what did they do? Well, among other things, the King burned up Jeremiah's letters, had the prophet thrown into a well, imprisoned him, and humiliated him. Yet, Jeremiah stood his ground, and was, of course, right all along.
But Jeremiah's Message was not all "doom and gloom". Sprinkled throughout his Prophecies, Letters, and Songs are the beautiful themes of Forgiveness, Restoration, and Hope. These things always seem to be accompanied by Music. Jeremiah also had some of the saddest songs in the Bible, which were written at the destruction of his beloved Jerusalem. We will begin exploring those tomorrow.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

Jeremiah 33:3 is one of my most-favorite verses. After long experience seeing God working and answering prayers, I've come to recognize that this is a defining characteristic of His answers. That is, He never simply responds in the manner we're expecting; rather, He embellishes His answer with novel and unexpected flourishes supplying additional blessing. It identifies His answer as coming from Him, in addition to its other perfect qualities. He's a show-off! But He's entitled.

Indeed! When I first began studying the Bible almost a half-century ago, I was a little scared of Jeremiah. Now he seems like a trusted friend.
The episode when the king burns Jeremiah’s scroll, page by page, reminds me of the current “cancel culture”.
Jeremiah’s response was perfect.
“You burned up my scroll? Hey Baruch, get out your ink pot and pen and writing tools. I’ll dictate it all over again!”
I LOVE it.

Had a print-shop set-up when I was about eight or nine, with little rubber letters, ink, and a hand-crank roller. Loved it. I still remember some of the news—well, sports—events I composed (copied) and printed. Twenty-five years later when I toured the LA Times, I especially enjoyed watching them set type on the linotype machine.

Rubber type!
That’s so futuristic!
Lead is the way to go! hahaha!
I got to tour the Boston Globe when I was in Elementary School and found it quite fascinating. They had huge glass walls facing Morrissey Blvd, and you could see the presses rolling when driving by.
My best girlfriend’s Dad was a proofreader for the Boston Herald/Advertiser. He used to bring the galleys home and spread them on a wooden stand and read read read.
Remember when Newspapers had PROOFREADERS? LOL.
