FReeper(Midnightcat) initial prayer request:Hello - It’s been several months and I thought I would offer another update for Edith, my mother. She received 35 radiation treatments to the head/neck during the worst of the pandemic. Radiation held back the tumor for about 10 weeks and tumor in her face is growing back again as of last week. Meanwhile, she just finished a 3rd treatment of Keytruda immunotherapy. Her oncologist feels it will “do nicely for her”, and I assume that means possibly buy her some time and keep her stable for a while. This cancer will not be going away - we are aware of that, and the doctor hasn’t yet seen the tumor recurrence on her face. She gets a PET scan on 8/5 and I guess Keytruda treatments will continue unless he says otherwise. Keytrude is every 3 weeks infusion. Thank you for your prayers.

Surgery went very well and she is recovering in the ICU. Thank you God, her surgeon and all our wonderful Prayer Warriors.
They are only allowing one parent in so my husband is with her and I am at home watching all the other children. He is updating me when he can. She will be going in again in the morning for round two.

Update:
My daughter’s second surgery went very well. Dr. said it was textbook. She’s had issues with her blood pressure throughout the night, so they’ve been extra careful watching her. They did several tests to make sure there was no leaking, EKG, bloodwork, etc. I’m so glad he’s very thorough. The Dr. thinks it’s because of the anesthetic. She’s awake now, eating a bowl of soup and watching Disney with Dad. I’m so thankful everything went well.
