Absolutely! The Shroud is genuine, and it shows Jesus’ face.
"WHAT DOES JESUS LOOK LIKE?"
Well actually I must claim some responsibility.
Since the Word came from The Hebrew, it would be by necessity, the origin and source, to gain the intent and purpose , it was given to Moses directly from the Creator, to understand what is being given.
The so called Old Testament is His story, of linage and the other peoples they came in contact.
Humor kind of goes over your head, huh?
If Gods wife looks like Jane Russell....then Im all in. God is awesome. Wouldnt surprise me one bit.
One of the cable channels recently did a show where they took the 3-D from the shroud of Turin and recreated the face. The face they came up with more than just slightly resembles Orthodox Jews I know in Brooklyn. Kinda surprised me.
Any painting of Christ and His Holy family as black is blasphemous and racist.
I don’t have the slightest problem with that; I know Who it is.
However, whatever the man Jesus looked like that was just His mortal human vessel. It's what was inside that counts. After His resurrection people who knew him could have long conversations and share food with Him before realizing Who they were with. So IMHO, just as He had the evident power to manipulate "reality" to change water into wine, feed a multitude from a small basket of food, and raise the dead, He could, did, and no doubt does appear however He chooses.
Try to find someone named Cohen or Levi and he probably looked similar.”””
L, see my reply #48.
The Christ of India image looks about like what the historic Jesus may have looked like, in my opinion.
FWIW, there was a made in India film about the life of Christ. Title was “Daya Sagar” and the cast was made up entirely of Indian Christians.

Buddhist worship involves religious acts of praise, honour and devotion, usually directed towards a deity or another figure worthy of this degree of respect. Most Buddhists do not believe in God. Although they respect and look up to the Buddha , they do not believe he was a god but they worship him as a form of respect.
That, of course, is the big difference. Other cultures made the Buddha supernatural but not the Indians.
There is still no Christianity in India except for the very SOUTHERN part of India. That is where St. Thomas, Jesus' "doubting" Apostle traveled to and evangelized.
Many Catholic families STILL name their sons THOMAS, after that great Apostle.
Saudi ARAMCO brought in Indians as workers but ONLY if they were Christian. No Hindus work in the K.S.A. because they aren't "People of the Book." (Bible)
I agree but Moses used his own culture to convey the message. Hebrew is an Afro-Asiatic language as is ancient Egyptian. They are going to be much closer in meaning and structure than any of those languages is to an Indo-European language. Given that the Hebrews lived amongst the Egyptians for 400 hundred years and Moses himself was raised Egyptian, many meanings will be the same.
8lb Baby Jesus!
Or 900-Foot-Tall Jesus.
What color was Jesus? I’m going to file that one under “Who gives a rat’s behind?”.
He must have looked very ordinary.
Theologically he is supposed to be a representative for of us, the average Joe, a literal everyman.
Practically, He must have been quite average for his time and place, if He had any distinguishing characteristics Judas could have just said ‘He’s the only white guy in town’, or ‘He’s a foot taller than everybody else in the room’, or ‘He has red hair’, or ‘Dude! He has a halo!’ and wouldn’t have needed to betray him with a kiss.
I think it’s proper for a church to portray Him as looking like an average parishioner/resident in that church’s area.
He is supposed to be someone a person in need of salvation can relate to as being just like him, able to understand his life and take on his burdens.
Jewish exactly - my jewish friends look pretty dang white.
