Not even close. The catholic church was a historic cover for child molesters and worse. After I thought about the facts that were being presented in courts and “catholic” news articles, the pattern was clear. The catholic church is corrupt from the Vatican down to the pews. It was a consistent conspiracy so I just pulled the rip-cord and took the church out of my life. No church. Went back to the god I could believe in.
Most catholics I know who left see the church as a corrupt gay institution. They will not be back.
Anyone looking for a way out has a million and one "reasons" to leave the Church.
Don’t focus on the people running the Church. They are not the Church.
Immerse yourself instead in that which the Church has taught at all times and in all places. Seek and master pure Church doctrine (which for the last 70 years or so has admittedly been almost impossible to find or hear crossing the lips of the Church’s local ordinaries (bishops) or its diocesan priests). In other words, enthusiastically absorb the Deposit of Faith and the ancient apostolic traditions that together constitute the Church’s magisterium. Ignore everything that conflicts with same (i.e., Fr. James Martin’s jusuitical sophistry when asked about whether same-sex attracted individuals are or can be at liberty to act on such impulses, Bishop Barron’s blatant dissimulation (”Jesus is the PRIVILEGED path to Salvation”) when prompted by Ben Shapiro to attest to THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. You will learn to recognize and the shepherd’s voice, naturally follow him alone, and instinctually reject the entreaties of every craven hireling. Study, if for no other reason than its proven faith strengthening effect, the 1917 Miracle of the Sun associated with Our Lady oF Fatima, Portugal and the three shepherd children. Allow yourself to become entranced by the life of Saint Bernadette Soubirous and her extremely well-accounted-for visions of Our Lady of Lourdes, France in 1854 (”I am the Immaculate Conception”). As you correct, refine and grow your personal understanding of the One True Faith, your fallible human intellect will find itself benificently influenced by your righteous will to conform to the infinitely superior mind of God himself. Eventually, the intellect will yield. Only then will the path to true clarity of mind become open to you.
