Thanks for the ping.
Unlike Bishop Seitz, I doubt Father Altman will be getting a phone call from the Francis.
Ping
(He wouldn't reassign this priest to some faraway land, would he? Where did Cardinal Burke end up?)
Yes. I don’t think this Priest is worried about getting in “trouble”. :)
The Word of Scripture is our daily bread. The Word’s Body and Blood are also our daily Bread. I can close my ears to a bad sermon, but I will not walk away from my Lord Incarnate, present in the Flesh upon the Altar.
Agree. Between this sermon and Archbishop’s Vigano’s letter to President Trump, I feel greatly encouraged. This does not change a thing on the ground but it gives me a great spiritual boost which eventually changes things on the ground. God bless.
How can you be sure.
We have a borderline criminal acting as pope now who is totally unstable.
I like your optimism though.
That is a decision for his local bishop not the pope.
Where did Cardinal Burke end up?
He is still in the Apostolic Signatura, mostly he goes around the world preaching and teaching.
:)
When I was looking into these things, I found out that, believe it or not, Cardinal Burke used to be the Bishop of La Crosse, Wisconsin, where this priest is now assigned (see Cardinal Burke's personal history at Wikipedia - Raymond Leo Burke - WARNING: sounds like this Wikipedia page probably was written by a leftist).
I also found out that Cardinal Burke has his own website ("https://www.cardinalburke.com/"), and, among other things, you can ask him to pray for you there, or you can sign up for his emails.
Cardinal Burke is from Wisconsin and is, at heart, a simple Wisconsin farm boy with a brilliant legal mind and holy heart. If you ever get a chance to meet him, take it.
