Isn’t telling the amount of focus that is put on the handling of the Eucharist and absolutely zero attention paid to making a Confession and being in a state of worthiness through heartfelt repentance?

You are assuming we don’t go to Confession before we receive Communion. It is understood we stil have the Sacrament of Reconcilliation and the guidelines are so we can receive Communion. Don’t speculate and critics please. Cheers.
