Cant agree: we dont have the numbers of priests available to take the chances. Really annoyed with those of us who cant hang in there, pray at home and protect our priests and fellow parishioners from this disease.

Not “taking the chances”?
What a pathetic spiritual and physical life to live. I guess all those brave soldiers we remember today took unnecessary “chances”.

Really? That's your response to someone who recognizes that a disease is not mitigated by wishful thinking or telling someone to "be brave"?
We have a crisis in our church right now convincing young men to pursue a vocation and we are vastly short of priests. The priests in my parish are all well within the highest range of fatality for the Covid-19.
Do you seriously believe that forcing those remaining few priests to continue as though nothing can happen is conducive to "spiritual health"?
Those "brave soldiers we remembered today" were killed because they had no choice but to be on the front edge of the most dangerous places on earth for us. Our government considered those places sufficiently valuable for their lives to be expended and they were expended. I know, because I served in combat for 17 months and was very nearly expended myself.
Our priests are valuable and rare and should be protected during this deadly crisis. We have progressed a long ways from all of those ancients who thought that diseases were caused by evil vapors and could be overcome through positive thinking.

Man, stop digging......
Many, many brave soldiers who lost their lives in battle who we remember, did so because they chose to sacrifice themselves for God, country and family.... They believed in a larger, higher purpose than staying on the sidelines - and we'd probably be speaking German if they hadn't.
Read about St. Thomas More.....or any of the martyred saints..... That is this Catholic faith of sacrifice we could be called to.....if you believe in Christ's redemptive sacrifice you would see the contradiction of allowing God-less bureaucrats and culture convincing the Church that it's presence is optional in the times it is needed most.....it's appalling the Bishops saw, and still see no other move but '" to fold "....
39 Those who try to gain their own life will lose it; but those who lose their life for my sake will gain it.

Why is it, do you think, that young men in the various dioceses and archdioceses with extremely high average ages of active Catholic priests are not seeking to become Catholic priests?
To: Chainmail
Yes, really. And if priests started acting like manly, virile priests we would have more vocations.

Your faith really so shallow that you want to sacrifice the lives of our priests so you can have the sacraments right now?
If a priest chooses to offer his life for his flock, fine and may God bless him..
But for whiners and plague deniers to insist that we expose our priests to death and sickness for their themselves is obscene.
While we're talking, how many of you have offered their lives for our country or our faith?

Why is it, do you think, that young men in the various dioceses and archdioceses with extremely high average ages of active Catholic priests are not seeking to become Catholic priestsBecause they do not see holy bishops about them. In the few diocese where the bishop is holy, there are many vocations.

You answered my question.
All for everyone else to sacrifice themselves - just not you.

What are you babbling about? I haven't missed a Sunday Mass since Easter, and all during Lent we had weekend adoration, confessions and Holy Communion on the tongue. So in your warped opinion, my priest, my fellow parishioners, and I were "offering" our lives for the Faith.
And guess what? No coronvirus amongst us.
Enjoy your bubble. Does it get hot in there?
