Data from the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest denominational mission board in the world, suggests that there are possibly over 3,000 ethnic people groups that are not only unreached, but also completely unengaged meaning there is no known active on-site church planting effort underway and few if any know believers.
Wycliffe Bible Translators reports that approximately About 1,600 languages have definite translation need.

Perhaps Jesus was even referring to the Preaching Angel, for "the end" more likely refers to the end of this age before the millennium or before the judgment. The rapture or the beginning of the tribulation are not really an end. They happen in the midst of things.

It is possible that a literal temple in Israel does not need to be built to fulfill end times prophecy. The temple referred to may well be the human body of the saints. If so, the abomination may very well be something injected into the arm ("wing"), and the desolation may be no Holy Spirit and no possibility of an indwelling Holy Spirit as a result of what is injected.
