Kiev, April 13, Interfax - Administrative fines were given to three clerics who allowed mass gathering of people in churches on the Palm Sunday in spite of quarantine measure; material on 12 more cases are being considered.
"On gathering of people in a number of churches yesterday. Irresponsibility and disrespect to human health have nothing to do with God! Police issued administrative fines to clerics in three cases. Materials on other 12 cases are considered. We stand for the freedom of conscience, but have you no shame?" Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov wrote in his Twitter.
As was reported, officials of the Interior Ministry and the All Ukrainian Council of Churches reached an agreement that for the time of quarantine services in all Ukraine's cult buildings would be attended only by the clerics and staff responsible for online translations. One-two parishioners can attend churches individually when there are no services there.
However, on April 12, on the feast of the Entry to Jerusalem some churches in many regions of Ukraine held services with numerous people attending, it was reported in social nets and media.
