Transubstantiation does not occur remotely from the Host, to the best of my knowledge. Are you Catholic?

Precisely. We Catholics believe in a tangible, physical presence of Christ. God made humans, unlike angels, of matter. We look forward to glorified bodies. Apostolic succession is literally hands on. All this happened so fast that many of us, Catholics and otherwise, have numbly acquiesced. (Bless the FL pastor with cojones who didn’t expose anyone to more wafting virus than a hundred of us at a time in Home Depot experienced yesterday.) The economic ramifications are monumental but this is spiritually uncharted territory.
