Fatima, Portugal, Mar 23, 2020 / 02:11 pm (CNA).- On Wednesday, nations from around the world can be consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in a liturgy to be celebrated at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, built in the place where in 1916 and 1917 the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three Portuguese children.
In response to the global coronavirus pandemic, the Portuguese bishops’ conference announced last week they would reconsecrate Portugal to Christ and Mary on the evening of March 25. Shortly after the announcement, the Spanish bishops’ conference requested that their country also be consecrated in the same liturgy.
The secretary general of the Portuguese bishops’ conference told ACI Digital, CNA’s Portuguese language news partner, that any other country can also join the initiative, simply by a request from its bishops’ conference to the bishops’ conference of Portugal.

Ask the OT Jews how incorporating Baal into the worship of Jehovah worked out.
People of faith turn to our Lord and His mother in times of distress.
They have been doing so for 2000 years.
Uh....no.
The worship of Mary began around Ephesus and has continued to grow within Roman Catholicism.
Christians turn to Christ and Christ alone. There are no admonitions to "turn to Mary" in Scripture. None.

I have always been curious about the visceral reaction some people have toward Mary. Even before I converted to Catholicism, it never made much sense to me.
A women, hailed by an angel of God as full of grace, surrendering herself to the will of God as his handmaiden, giving birth to, raising, and suffering at the foot of the Cross with her Son, the Son of God - our Lord and Savior, and at every step during her life and for us after her assumption doing one thing - directing us to Jesus. Do as He says, since the wedding at Cana.
Yet respect for her, asking for her prayers to our Lord the same way we would ask our friend, and consecrating ourselves to her mission of bringing us to Jesus is somehow blasphemy? Seems absurd to me.
Also, reading the post, the consecration is to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Those words mean very different things - as does our devotion to the Blessed Virgin as compared to our worship of Jesus Christ.
As she so succinctly put it, Do as He says...

Maybe we should focus on Fatima now — draw Satan’s attention away from Pelosi.
Never understood why anyone would want to talk badly about Christ’s mom.
But then making a statement without reflection and understanding never stopped people.
For those who would like to understand and know more about why Christ’s mother was honored over the Centuries I would recommend they listen to some of Father Ripperger’s Youtube talks on the subject.
You may not come to agreement but hopefully would at least understand why many do. And be a bit more charitable to them.
No one does. They point out that idolatry is wrong, even when it involves Christ's mom.
The only ones that are demonic are those who disparage the message of Fatima to turn from sin and believe in Jesus!
The message of Fatima is/was to turn away from sin and stop offending God. Somehow this message offends people.

John didn't worship Mary. The NT is crystal clear on that.

IF you've read the texts, there was error in the very early days of the church. It is always a constant battle to combat error.
Now, if you want to examine how the "message to be hijacked, mutilated, diluted, and bowdlerized", one can look at what Roman Catholicism has sanctioned as "ok" but is yet error.
I can show in scripture what I believe....the Roman Catholic cannot make that statement as shown just in your opening claim.
You should try reading the actual message, God is much offended...
