I do not consider the Roman Catholic Church the caretaker of Christianity. They are very much like the rabbis, that sprang up during the 400 yrs of silence and after Jesus death to give he people their own interpretation and rules to live by, which Jesus condemned.

LCMS congregations tend to be "ordinary" Americans who nevertheless believe the Bible, live it, teach it, and support ministries who uphold it as Truth.
