The beatification process of Cardinal Ignatius Kung Pin-mei has stalled, with the Vatican stating China-Vatican diplomatic sensitivity as the cause of the delay.

And currently, Red China is threatening to halt pharmaceutical exports to the U.S.

Perhaps Ignatius doesn’t have the stomache to be raised to the glories of the altar by this Pope.

The excerpt bit says nothing about why this guy would be sainted in the first place. 30 years in Chinese jail is good and all, but to be sainted there are specific bullet points to be checked off.
