Besides a hot, steaming bath, years ago they recommended syrup of ipecac to relieve kids from the croup. I used to get it myself when I was young, and my youngest son had it once. The doctor advised syrup of ipecac to make him vomit, which brought up all that mucous.
I gave him a hot steaming shower this morning and it did help a lot....interesting about the syrup of ipeacac...thanks for the info.
